WORKSHOPS [W1] - DANCE TANGO TONITE A workshop designed for those wishing to dance Argentine Tango for the first time, for dancers wishing to understand the concept of improvisation, and for teachers and prospective teachers interested in learning the methodology used by old masters in Buenos Aires. Men and women are drilled with movements that emphasize posture, balance and musicality. A series of useful figures provide the bases for understanding displacements on the line of dance, changes of direction, and stationary patterns. 7:00 PM - 8:25 PM, $20 in advance, $25 at the door space permitting. [W2] ARGENTINE TANGO FLOORCRAFT A workshop designed for all levels of experience. Men and women are drilled on the technical aspects of balance, posture and body alignment. These are fundamental requirements for women to dance with confidence with any and every man, and for men to develop confidence and finesse in order to communicate with any and every woman on the dance floor. Women are sensitized to recognize and respond to La marca (the sophisticated two-way communication unique to Argentine Tango). Men are taught how to use La marca (the sophisticated two-way communication so unique of the Argentine Tango).
