Greetings List Members - In October, MARCELO SOLIS and YANINA MESSINA, who are based in Lafayette, CA, will be doing several workshops.
The first is on Oct. 10 (Sun.) at the Danceasy Studio, 9951 San Pablo, El Cerrito, CA, (510) 524-9100, 1 to 4 PM, $35 in advance, $40 at the door. The theme of the workshop is TURNS (giros). Basic turns; combining turns with kicks, sacadas, paradas, ochos, boleos and syncopation; using different rhythms (tango, vals, milonga); and using turns to change direction. The second workshop is on Oct. 17 (Sun.) at the Studio, 1018 Almanor Lane, Lafayette, CA, (925) 283-0191, 4 to 6 PM, $30 per person. This is Yanina's WOMEN'S TECHNIQUE & MUSIC INTERPRETATION WORKSHOP. The emphases is on exercises for balance; walking backwards; pivots; ochos; molinete; work to move torso and legs independently; and musicality and interpretation.
