Reason #1
You can get away from winter weather. It's warm and sunny in BsAs.

Reason #2
Buenos Aires 2000, five days of free events at 37 venues, 9-13 of December.
Music and dance performances, movies, photo exhibits, lectures, classes and
milongas.

For example:
Luis Cardei will perform at Megafon. Alberto Castillo will sing with
Orquesta de Jorge Dragone in Torquato Tasso. There will be a milonga on
Corrientes (from Callao to Parana) beginning at 10pm on December 11
featuring El Arranque, Alberto Castillo with the Orquesta de Jorge Dragone,
Los Reyes del Tango, Los Cosos de Al Lao with Alfredo Piro, Color Tango, and
an exhibition by Miguel Angel Zotto, all in one night.

On Tuesday the 7th there will be a debate: TANGO Y MERCADO at Libreria
Gandhi at 7pm.
Nos cuesta reconocer al tango como el producto mas distinitivo de la
industria nacional. Pero quienes y como invierten en el tango? que politica
cultural lo contempla? que leyes de mercado lo alcanzan? Participan Jose
Gobello, Miguel Angel Zotto, Julio Nudler, Juan Fabbri y Eduardo Arquimbau.

The city government has printed a schedule of the events which is being
distributed at the milongas.
The concerts would satisfy any tango lover's appetite. There are so many
things going on at the same time that it will be hard to choose which one
deserves attention.
