For Y2K-Compatible Dancers Only!!
=================================
Where will you be on the last hour of 1999? If you don't
want to stay at home and don't want to squeeze with the
mindless crowds at Orchard Road or Suntec City, why not
join us at our Tango/Latino/Swing party for 200 dancers?

Yes, the New Year's Eve party has been confirmed and it
will be held at Food Opera, Far East Square, from 10.30pm
to 6am the next morning. The venue is just behind The
Pavilion, which was our first choice but I understand
has been taken away from us by the Radio Corporation of
Singapore.

Nevertheless, this alternative venue is not bad at all.
Beside around 1000 square feet of tiled floor for dancing,
the main entrance faces the pedestrian-only Pekin Street,
plus we get exclusive use of the heritage way (actually
an air-conditioned "street") to chill out.

Candide, the official party planner, has decreed that
the theme of the party is "Masquerade", and so it shall be.
You may wear your own costumes or masks that will be provided.
She is going to give out awards to the best costumes, the
best dancers, and one category that goes by the intriguing
name of "least-clothed" ... perhaps she will win it
herself :-) ??

Jokes aside, I hope everyone will come, even at wee hours
in the morning (the party runs till 6am, remember!).

We are throwing this event open to all social dancers,
whether latin, swing, ballroom and whatever else there
is out there. If you have a particular song request,
be sure to inform me early to have it included in the
playlist, or just bring down the CD on that night.

Important Ticketing Details
===========================
Admission to the party is $25 in advance or $35
after Christmas, and snacks and drinks are included.

Considering that anywhere else in town that is open,
air-conditioned, and serve cold beer will cost you a
minimum of $88+++ that night, I think you have to
agree this is a terrific deal.

With 500,000 people expected to be downtown that
particular night, there is a real danger of food
and drink shortage everywhere. So, we require
all who expect to come to pre-register to be on
our guest list.

If you show up without being listed on the guest
list, then you're most likely not catered for.
In other words .. sorry, no food or drink for
you, even if we let you enter.

For any query about the Party, call me or
Candide ([email protected]).
