Hector B. Villalba has recently opened one of the most beautiful locations for tango in Buenos Aires. I went to see it today. He told me that as soon as he saw the wood floor (circa 1925) he bought the building. This place is too beautiful to describe. Hector spared no expense in the renovation which has taken months.
Hector's studio, DANDI, is located at Piedras 936 (between Estados Unidos & Carlos Calvo) in the heart of San Telmo and just around the corner from Lina's Tango Guest House at Estados Unidos 780. There are classes Monday through Saturday. Dandi is open every day from 10:00am. This Friday and Saturday, March 10-11, there will be a tango show at Dandi at 10:30 with dancers, orchestra and singers. Reservations: 4307-7623 (Hector and his staff speak English) The first matinee milonga begins this Sunday, March 12 from 5:00-11:00pm. There is air-conditioning and a non-smoking area. Dandi is not far from Club Espanol for those of you who are attending the CITA. Hector will have a website soon with photographs of Dandi. www.tangoupdandi.com.ar If you need more information: [email protected]
