For those of you who have been following the postings on Tango-L, the teacher you have been waiting for will finally arrive this week. Metin Yazir who has been lauded for his style, elegance and improvisational style of teaching and dance will be spending 10 days here. His first class will be on Friday 8-10 p.m., "Embellishments for Women," at the Beat in Berkeley, 9th and Dwight, $25 adv. $30 door. On Saturday he will be doing two classes at La Pena, 3105 shattuck Ave in Berkeley, a fundamentals class 1-3 p.m. and intermediate salon 3-5. Each of these workshops will be $25 adv./ or $30 door, with a discount of $5 if both are taken. That evening he will be teaching at the BEat just before the all night milonga. His class on "Milonguero Style Close embrace" will be from 9:15 - 10:30. Both the class and milonga are $15, a great bargain, considering you get to dance to dawn!
Sunday he will be doing two workshops at Rhythm and Motion, 1133 Mission, SF. From 1-3 "Creating your own Tango Steps" and from 3-5 p.m "Easy Aerials". Each workshop will be $25 adv and $30 at the door.
