Tango VIDEO LECTURES AND CLASSES by RUBEN "MILONGA" Ruben "Milonga", a professor of the TANGO UNIVERSITY of BUENOS AIRES, will be visiting to Washington DC, between May 3rd and 10th. He will give us an unique opportunity to learn about TANGO DANCE HISTORY / MUSIC TANGO HISTORY (Video lectures) as well as teaching methodology, canyengue style, social dance, show dance, professional dance, etc. He will also be available for private lessons.
Ruben started dancing in 1956. He has performed, choreographed, and lectured about tango for over 30 years. His knowledge and skills have been internationally acclaimed. Four investigative works on history and literature of tango were written and published between 1987 and 1990. In 1987 he opened a Tango dance school. He was a Professor in the Tango University between 1993 and 1996. Since 1995 he has been invited to Holland, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Iceland, and many tango communities in the US as a tango instructor, lecturer, performer, writer, and choreographer. ---Lecture/Class Schedule--- Saturday, May 6 Video Lecture: TANGO DANCE HISTORY "History of tango dance as a popular dance 1860-1960 in Argentina (the evolution of the social dance)" Time 7:00 - 9:00 PM Place: Social Hall, DC Jewish Community Center 1529 16th Street, NW Washington DC Sunday, May 7 1.
