COLORADO - MERCURY CAFE - MILONGAS - LIVE TANGO MUSIC

Denver's Mercury Cafe features milongas Friday evenings,
often with live music.
There is one double live music weekend on June 16-17.
All milongas begin about 9:30 pm and go until 2 am.
The bands begin playing about 10pm or so.
There will be DJed music when the band takes their breaks.
May 26 - Extasis.
Quartet: bandoneon, piano, violin, double-bass.
May 28 - Sunday afternoon, 1-3pm.
Piazzolla Concert by the Lamont School of Music.
This is not a milonga, but, you really should
come and hear these budding tango musicians!
Piazzolla may pull them in to tango music, but
I expect some of them will discover the tango
classics and soon learn to play music for us dancers.
June 2 - DJed music.

June 16 - Tango Camarata, directed by Daniel Diaz.
June 17 - Tango Camarata, directed by Daniel Diaz.
This weekend's formation is currently planned
as a quartet, though it may be more.

We are fortunate to have TWO bands.
EXTASIS is our Denver-based quartet featuring Evan Orman
on bandoneon, Erin Furbee on violin, Ken Harper on double bass,
and Karen Eddleman on piano.
These are all professional musicians who enthusiastically
play for us dancers!
TANGO CAMARATA is directed by Daniel Diaz, an Argentine now living
in Orem, Utah, but, alas, soon moving to San Francisco.
We wish him well with his new job in the Bay Area, but,
Dan, remember that we love you too! Come and visit often!
