Hello,

be also sold during Ithaca's TangoFest on June 23-25, where Miguel Angel
Zotto will be teaching and performing:

The video contains some of the best choreographies created by Miguel
Zotto & Milena Plebs (danced by Miguel & Milena, Osvaldo Zotto & Mora
Godoy, company), as well as few vocal and instrumental numbers. The
complete program included is shown below. In addition, there is an
interview (subtitled) with Miguel Zotto as well as footage of some of
the finest milongueros and Miguel Zotto's teachers: Antonio Todaro,
Carlos Estevez Petroleo, Fino & Maria Teresa, and Virulazo & Navira.

There is no reason to talk about quality of performances. They are as
good as show tango can only be. Miguel&Milena are the only dancers of
the new 80s-90s-00s generation who were able to create choreographies
totally distinct from each other, in style as well as the
mood/personality. Their choreographies stay close to the essence of
tango, and that, besides the high quality of production and dancing,
made Perfumes de Tango and Una Noche de Tango the most popular shows in
Buenos Aires for years. The subtle playing with the music is
incomparable. Just see how Miguel&Milena play with creating more tension
by stepping slightly behind the beat or eagerness with going slightly
ahead (in Inspiracion). So, combined with the brilliant execution and
elegance you get one of the greatest tango couples ever.

The footage of Petroleo dancing to El Lloron with a partner (caught on
35mm camera), probably taken when he was in his late 60s or early 70s,
is a reminder (and inspiration) of how good tango can be, what it is
about, and how far in quality the dancers of today are from the dancing
of such a master and innovator in true sense of the word. Just these 2
minutes of dancing are worth the buy ... at least for me.

Antonio Todaro is dancing with her then 8 year old daughter, and you can
see many steps later picked by today's show dancers. Fino&Maria-Teresa
dance their distinctively elegant, reserved and at the same time playful
style. A somewhat short footage of Virulazo&Navira shows their elegant
style of dancing to Chique.

Overall, this is about to become one of the "classic tango videos", well
worth the somewhat high price.
