For all you tango fanatics, why don't you consider staying on for the
week-end in beautiful San Francisco after Nora's week finishes?
Not only can you enjoy the beautiful sights and other milongas here, but
also the biggest tango event of the year will be happening on Saturday night
July 15th, sponsored by BA Tango, that is "Tango by the Bay 2000" for the
first time ever in City Hall. (For information call: (510)654-3199 or see
their website: www. batango.com. )

And in addition, Metin Yazir will be giving a long week-end of special
workshops. In case you don't know him, Metin Yazir has been giving
workshops in Europe and the US for some time now. He is primary teacher of
tango in Turkey with 3,000 students. He has danced at the White House at
the invitation of President Clinton. Students of his last workshops here
have commented to me about his incredible energy, his intense concentration
on helping individual students improve technique. Even in group classes he
focuses on each individual, partnering both the men and the women, ensuring
that they learn not just the pattern, but also corrections of basic
problems in balance, posture or positioning. He is a performer, but more
than a performer, he is a teacher who gives everything and cares about his
students.
To read more reviews of his teaching which were posted on Tango-L see his
website www.bailatango.com . To celebrate his return we will have four days
of classes with a free practica for participants in a special promotional
package.
