Issue No. 70 of El Tangauta just came out. With the launching this month of
their new web site at www.eltangauta.com they have made major changes in the
look and format of the magazine which is distributed free of charge in the
milongas and other locations in the city. If you have never seen the
publication, you can find all the previous issues on the web site.

The new look is a glossy, full-color format with lots of color photos taken
in the milongas and advertising. They continue to provide an English
translation of some articles. There is an interview with Atilio Stampone
which is translated and which can probably be found on the web site.

Lo que vendra, a listing of classes, milongas, events, etc., is a newsprint
insert. Previous issues listed the majority of classes and milongas
available on any night of the week with a directory of addresses and phone
numbers. The current issue includes only a listing of those who are
advertisers, thereby making it a necessity for tourists to find B.A. Tango
in order to know all the current possibilities of classes, milongas, etc. in
Buenos Aires. A visitor reading this issue might think there were only
three milongas on Monday in BsAs, one in the afternoon and two in the
evening, if they relied on the listing. In this area, I think B.A. Tango is
a better source of information for tourists, but it's a good idea to have
both magazines for reference. Not every teacher or milonga advertises in
both publications.

Classified ads return with everything from special classes (yoga, flamenco)
to musicians for contract or study to an antique vitrola for sale. You can
even place a free classified with up to 15 words.
