TANGO EXCHANGE Saturday, 5 Aug 2000 Featuring Special One Day Workshops by Jak Karako, Baila Tango -- New York Anne-Sophie Ville, Washington, D.C. This will be the Triangle s first tango exchange with another city. Both teachers will be accompanied by tangueros from their area to join us in an evening of fun and frolic! Each workshop is $20 per person (or $50 for the weekend) and will be held at Triangle Dance Studio (2603 S. Miami Blvd. in Durham, NC) Latest info (and a photo) at http://www.bailatango.com/nc/. Fees: $50, weekend classes, or $20 per class. (Full-time students: $40 for the weekend) Early Registration deadline: August 2. (late registration is $70 for the weekend, $25 per class) Friday Practica Warm-up with a practica on Friday night. Free introductory workshop for all newcomers! $5 per person, $4 for TT. Free for workshop attendees. Triangle Dance Studio 8:00 9:00 Intro Workshop 9:00 12:00 Practica Workshops Like all Baila Tango classes, these workshops will emphasize the interaction and communication between the man and the woman beyond simple lead-follow. $20 per person/class. $50 for the day. 11:00 12:30 Technique for Followers The followers will work on their balance, patience and embellishments, skills essential to expressing themselves on the floor. 2:00 3:30 Listening to the Follower The leaders will discover how to follow the follower as they use their skills. Focus is on creating moments for the followers and supporting the follower after the initial lead. 3:30 5:00 Complementary Embellishments This workshop will feature embellishments for the leaders to accent and complement the work of the followers. Saturday Milonga The milonga will take place at El Chilango in Carrboro on 5 August, and will include dancers from Washington, D.C., and New York, as well as our local bon vivants. $5 per person, may be used for meal purchase. 8:00pm 12:00 Milonga We need hosts!!!
