Expand your experience & understanding of tango. Classes are set-up in a progressive way, taking the uninitiated and experienced alike, from the structure and foundation of their method, through more advanced and intricate movements, rhythms, and techniques. These classes are designed to build on the previous classes. For the more experienced, there will be advanced/special classes designed with them in mind. To get the most from these classes we encourage you to take them as a package. Every attempt will be made to have good gender balance. Please be advised that these are intermediate and advanced level classes (unless otherwise stated). Make an honest self-assessment of your level before signing up. Chicho & Lucia are fluent in English and are assisted by expert translators for clear and precise explanations of the instructions, so you will not miss any detail. Program Schedule Saturdays September 16th & October 14th, 1-3pm & 3:30-5:30pm - Tango I, II - Foundations, the Naveira/Salas technique, men & women. For novices to this method and experienced dancers alike. Essential for later classes. - Tango III, IV - Executing The Led Boleo: front, back, in-line boleos & boleo combinations. Boleos with a punch! Sundays September 17th & October 15th, 1-3pm & 3:30-5:30pm - Tango V - Giros and Double Giros. Rhythm, Dynamics And Mechanics of a Great Giro. Expanding the possibilities - Tango VI - Uncommon Sacadas & Ganchos. Technique for Back, Front & Women's Sacadas. - Tango VII - Sequences and Combinations - Tango VIII - Special Surprise Class! Secrets Revealed! (vii & viii are advanced classes for Sunday, Oct.15th ) NOTE: A combination of the above weekend classes will be given on any given weekend, at the discretion of the teachers/organizers. Tuesdays September 19th, 26th & October 3rd, 10th, 7-8:30pm & 8:30-10pm - T&C - Technique and Concepts in 'Tango Nuevo' for Men and Women. The active, crucial role of the woman - Iv.P - Improvisation vs. Patterns Thursdays September 21st, 28th & October 4th, 12th, 7-8:30pm & 8:30-10pm - MILONGA!!! - Rhythm & the Milonga con Traspie - VALS!!! (tango waltz) - Rhythm and the Vals Cruzado. Prices Weekend classes are $28, with a 10% discount if signing up for all classes.
