My wife and I just returned from a trip to Cleveland with four of our great Tango friends. I have to say a few things here . . .
1) Hats off to Tim "Timmy Tango" Pogros for pulling everything together. This man works very hard to make Tango alive in his community. (And he does it because he loves the dance.) 2) Our fun began with great seats to "Forever Tango." I must recommend Cleveland's theater district; the downtown is superb -- cosmopolitan, clean, etc. I understand Timmy was personally responsible for over getting tickets to over 200 in Cleveland . . . 3) Marcela Duran and Carlos Gavito held a terrific workshop Saturday in Belinda's Bar. The passion and fluidity of this couple is amazing. Everyone who attended felt the warmth and care they impart while teaching. By the way -- there is a 3 volume video set just out featuring Gavito & Marcella's teaching. It's wonderful! (It was produced by Solo Tango.) 4) The Milonga began at 7 pm in Belinda's. A friendly crowd. One of the largest floors I've seen in a public club. All-in-all, we had a terrific time; we're looking forward to visting Cleveland again. If you have a chance to visit any of Timmy's events, do it.
