Saturday and Sunday, November 18 and 19, 1 - 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 - 5 p.m.
Classes are $30 each or $25 each if registering for three or more. The
location for all classes is Academy 331, 530 N. La Cienega Blvd., 1/2 block
south of Melrose. Advance reservations are strongly suggested.

Carlos and Alicia have been dancing together since 1981. They are the only
couple to have starred in all four of the most prestigious tango shows of
the 1990s--"Tango Argentino," "Tango X 2," "Forever Tango" and "Una Noche De
Tango." They were the first couple to take the essence of elegant,
salon-style social tango to the stage, combining it with an incomparable
theatricality and sense of drama. Trained by some of Buenos Aires greatest
masters--including Antonio Todaro and Pepito Avellaneda--they have created a
unique style which has distinguished them as one of the top performing and
teaching couples in the world, and earned them the highest admiration and
respect from their professional tango colleagues. Carlos is considered one
of the greatest milongueros of his generation. (Ladies, when you've danced
with Carlos you KNOW you've been danced with!) Before becoming a performer
he honed his skills in the milongas of Buenos Aires. Alicia is a classically
trained dancer who began her professional dance career in the Ballet of the
Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires. They have been featured in the films "The
Tango Lesson," and "Happy Together," and the award-winning documentary,
"Tango: The Obsession." They recently produced a highly praised series of
instructional videos called "Learn to Dance Tango With Carlos and Alicia:
The Embrace, The Heart, The Seduction and The Soul."

Carlos and Alicia bring to their classes an infectious energy and love of
the tango as a social dance form. They emphasize the necessary technique for
good social dancing, and especially stress the importance of dancing to the
musical phrasing. They are truly the embodiment of the soul of tango.
