There will be a short but intense weekend workshop in Salt Lake City on January 13-14. CHRISTOPHER NASSOPOULOS and CAROLINE PEATTY will be here from the Bay Area to guide us in the Milonguero Style. Students of Susana Miller, they have taught up and down the west coast and were very well received in Denver at the Milonguero Weekend last fall. Their passion for this dance, amazing body awareness, and ability to COMMUNICATE their deep understanding, makes them the perfect people from whom to learn the finer points of this very subtle style of tango.
Please note that this workshop is designed for dancers who either have experience with the Milonguero Style or who have been dancing Tango for a while and would like to broaden their knowledge. There will only be one beginning level class offered, for those who are new to tango or for those who want to become aquainted with Milonguero Style. The four other classes will assume command of basic Tango vocabulary like the cross, crossed system, ochos, ocho cortado and basic turns. All classes will be held at DanceSport in Motion, 1300 S. 145 E., Salt Lake City, UT. SATURDAY, JANUARY 13TH: 12:30 - 2:00 - An Introduction to Milonguero Style (Beginning Level) 2:15 - 3:45 - Turn, Baby, Turn - Work with Milonguero Style Turns 4:15 - 5:45 - Vals - New ways with this fun 3/4 rhythm. PARTY SATURDAY NIGHT, Location to be Announced. SUNDAY, JANUARY 14TH: 12:00 - 1:30 - Rhythm in Tight Spaces - A Milonguero specialty that makes the dance exciting, even if you only have a couple feet in which to move. 1:45 - 3:15 - Milonga - Get the most of this exciting pace. PARTY SUNDAY NIGHT, Location to be Announced. Classes cost $15.00 each or pay only $60.00 for all five. No pre-registration is necessary. PRIVATE LESSONS: There are a few slots available, mostly on Sunday afternoon. The cost is $75.00 for couples and $60.00 for singles.
