Join us for a special workshop with Marcelo Solis in Argentine Tango on Saturday, January 27, at the Allegro Ballroom, 5855 Christie Avenue, Emeryville, CA (510) 655-2888, www.allegroballroom.com. Marcelo is an experienced dancer, milonguero, choreographer and teacher. He has performed and taught throughout Europe and the United States since 1996. Originally from Rosario, Argentina, Marcelo's early training came from many well known tango maestros such as Orlando Paiva. His later training in Buenos Aires gained him the influence of such greats as Miguel Angel, Osvaldo Zotto, Moorish Godoy, Juan Carlos Copes and Pocho Pizzarro.
Marcelo will be joined by Maria Solero, also from Rosario, Argentina, who is in the Bay Area to assist Marcelo in his teaching of Tango. Maria studied with Marcelo and Yanina and is one of the new generation tango dancers. She is a serious tango aficionado with a lot of passion and dedication to this art form. Maria has and continues to study modern dance, jazz and ballet. In addition, she has studied with some of the best teachers in Buenos Aires. Marcelo offers a unique style with fun patterns and techniques that everyone can appreciate. His friendly nature, love for tango, and clear method of teaching makes him one of the Bay Area's favourite teachers. On January 27, he will teach a class from 2:00 - 3:15 in Syncopation for $13 ($10 for Allegro members), and 3:15 - 5:00 in Turns for $16 ($13 for Allegro members).
