MARCELO SOLIS gives fun TANGO CLASSES where you will learn a lot!

DATE: Saturday, February 3, 10 and 24, 2001, from 3 to 5 p.m., in San
Francisco.

LOCATION: PS Powell Street Studio, 449 Powell Street.

THEME for February classes:

FUNDAMENTALS:
- Rhythm, balance, and posture
- Embrace: communication in lead and follow
- Dissociation between upper and lower body

INTERMEDIATE LEVEL:
- Pivoting:  ochos, turns, boleos
- Moving around on the dance floor: change of direction, control, and
 connection with your partner
- Tango rituals: codes of etiquette in dancing tango

ADVANCED LEVEL:
- Musicality, and embellishments
- Use of space: ganchos, and sacadas
- Tango is a dance of possibilities: improvisation, and creativity

The classes are structured in three blocks: 1) Fundamentals,
2) Intermediate, and 3) Advanced levels, each of a half-hour in length.

You can choose according to your knowledge and experience dancing tango, or
 your desire to learn and to be challenged.

Fundamentals is advised for all levels, specially for beginners as an
 introduction to tango, but also as a review and a good warm up for
 intermediates and advanced students.

Intermediate will be challenging for beginners; good for intermediates and a
good introduction to the themes we are going to cover in the advanced level.

The Advanced class is not recommended for beginners.  It will be challenging
for intermediates, but still possible and very appropriated for the advanced
students.

You can choose two to three blocks of classes, ex:
- Fundamentals + intermediate
- Intermediate + advanced
- Fundamentals + intermediate + advanced

IN ADDITION: You get a FREE half-hour practice with the assistance of Marcelo
 at the end of the class.

NEW CLASS ASSISTANT
Marcelo and his students will have an extra gift: Maria Solero is here from
Rosario, Argentina to assist Marcelo in his classes.  Maria studied with
 Marcelo and Yanina and is one of the new generation tango dancers.  She is
 a serious tango aficionado with a lot of passion and dedication to this art
 form.  Maria has and continues to study modern dance, jazz, and ballet.  In
 addition, she has  studied with some of the best teachers in Buenos Aires.

PRICES:
For Two blocks of classes, paid in advance, the complete workshop of three
weeks in February is $45.

For Three blocks of classes, paid in advance, the complete workshop of three
weeks in February is $60.

If you pay at the door, the price, each time, is $20 for two blocks of
classes or $25 for three blocks.
