The Boston Tango School presents: TIOMA 'EL RUSO' MALORATSKY March 2-3 (Friday and Saturday)
Many observers consider Tioma "El Ruso" to be one of the most elegant tango social dancers living in the United States. Stylish and poised, this Russian native brings an intensity and grace to the dance that is unique, compelling, and intelligent. Tioma's homebase is in New York City, where he teaches regular classes at the International Ballet Dance Center at Carnegie Hall. He also teaches at La Belle Epoque s weekly milonga. On his visits to Argentina he seeks out the milongeros and those connected with the "Golden Age" of tango. He has studied with many well known masters, including Guillermina & Roberto, Susana Miller, Omar Vega, Nito & Elba, Puppy Castello, Gustavo Naveira, and Fabian Salas. We'd like to welcome Tioma "El Ruso" back to Boston. His attentive and innovative teaching style helps make the authentic salon style of tango accessible to his students, as he focuses on the finding new ways to bring awareness to tango essentials -- musicality, posture, balance, communication between the partners, and improvisational technique.
