I'm thrilled to announce that we've just added Pablo Veron and Noel Strazza to our superb faculty for "Tango Fireworks Week 2001," July 1 - 7, 2001 in Los Angeles. This is the first week-long tango congress ever to be held in Southern California, and with Pablo and Noel, Osvaldo Zotto and Lorena Ermocida, Julio Balmaceda and Corina De La Rosa, Nestor and Patricia Ray and Omar Vega, I think it will be a blockbuster event. Our goal is to provide a balance between salon style, milonguero (or close embrace) and the more avant-garde, and I think there will be something for everyone. I am still working on bringing in live music from Buenos Aires, and I will have the details on that shortly. The price for the week is $475 per person, including 22 classes (out of 88 to choose from), 6 milongas and the closing night dinner-dance and maestros' show. After April 1 the price goes up to $529.
We are still offering a special deal to those out-of-town organizers who bring groups of five or more people. If you bring a group of five people you will be given free registration for all classes and activities. If you bring ten people, you will receive two free registrations. If you are interested in organizing a group, please let me know by e-mailing me your postal mailing address and I will send you as many program brochures as you like. I can also send you some brochures on the hotel where the event will take place, the Crowne Plaza Redondo Beach Hotel. The hotel is offering a special rate for our event, $129 per night single or double (deadline is June 1), which for this city is extremely reasonable for this class of hotel, especially in the middle of Southern California's tourist season. There are more details available on our website, just click on this link: www.apurotango.com/info9.html. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to get in touch with me, either by e-mail or by calling me at (323) 650-0509. I look forward to hearing from you and to meeting you in July. Best Regards, Linda Valentino
