Session 1: - Argentine Tango embrace. Argentine Tango posture.
- Leading/following walking, variations, leading to cross and
variations
- Pivoting. Dancing a complete tango just using different walks.
Session 2: - Leading/following"Ocho steps", forward, backwards,
timing, technique, expression.
- Combining ochos with walks in the music.
Argentine tango embrace and posture adjustments.
Session 3: Tango turns; Leading/following clockwise, counterclockwise,
composition of turns, types of turns, length of steps, timing.
- Combining walks, ochos, turns in the music.
Argentine tango embrace and posture adjustments.
Session 4: Embellishments concepts.
- Types of embellishments and artistic renditions.
- Surface level ornaments. (for social dancing)
- Medium height ornaments. (for social dancing)
- Principles of ornaments within the movements.
- Argentine tango embrace and posture adjustments.
Session 5: Navigation in the dance floor.
- Leading/following Partial movements.- Do/undo movements.
- Waiting, resuming.- Pausing with the music, resume after
pause.
- Managing navigation in the line of dance.
- Courtesy and sharing the floor flow.
- Cadencias.
Session 6: "Ocho steps", several different types for man and woman.
Several elaborate variations of "ocho" steps for women and men.
Leading/following variations of ochos.
Argentine tango embrace and posture adjustments.
Session 7: Tango turns; clockwise, counterclockwise,Variations.
- Partial turns. -Half turns, - Pivoting turns; - Stepping
during
turns,
- Foot touching/entering/displacement in turns, embellishments
in turns, Flicks and hooks during turns.
- Combining individual elements while dancing.
- Argentine tango embrace and posture adjustments.
Session 8: More on embellishments.
- Surface level ornaments. (for social dancing)
Syncopation steps, internal and external syncopation in the
music.
- Dancing in parallel or crossed system, switching systems.
- More on medium height ornaments. (for social dancing)
- Some types of seatings (sentada)movements.
- Some Merry go-round movements (Calesitas)
- Some Adagio movements; -
- Concepts of final "ending" movements. Posture, embrace Timing.

Class is conducted by Spencer and Vanessa.
- No partner is required, though it is always a guarantee if you bring
your own partner.
- IT IS REQUIRED HOWEVER THAT YOU BRING LEATHER SOLE SHOES, or dance
shoes, etc NO RUBBER SOLE
shoes. (for your own safety)
- Any level is accepted in the first session. In following sessions
anyone can be
accepted as long as you feel that you fit within the ongoing level of
the class at that session level.
Cost is $10 per session. You can pay as you go or pay for the entire
series, as you see fit.
THe Spectrum is a very comfortable salon with excellent parking (free)
on premises,in a safe
neiborhood, good facilities (heating, air, etc.)
