Hi Everyone, For those of you who haven't heard, we have a great show playing in our tango community - Tango Dreams.
Fernanda and Guillermo, the 1999 IDO World Argentine Tango Champions, are the stars of this production. They along with a wonderful cast of musicians and a fabulous singer have formed an innovative and special tango experience for their audience. The show's theme represents a stylized, behind-the-scenes look at how a tango show is created. Embedded within this are various performances that examine a wide range of storylines and how tango can be used to express human emotions. You'll appreciate their humorous display of classic tango characters as well as their creation of new ones. For example, in one of my favorite pieces, Fernanda is dressed in a skintight bodysuit, representing a sleek, powerful, untamed cat; and Guillermo with his whip and chair, represents the Lion Tamer. This piece presents the struggle between the two with a fusion of tango and sexy jazz movements. We loved the innovative aspects of their show: the stories, the lighting and special effects, and of course the dance itself. If you're in the area, I would encourage attending this show. They only have a few remaining performances this week (Friday, March 30 at 8 pm and Sunday at 2 pm and 7 pm) at the Alex Theatre in Glendale. In addition, they should have two more shows the evenings of April 4 and April 6 in Thousand Oaks. To ensure that you receive the best seating available, please contact Anne at one of the following two numbers: 818/769-9057 or 213/718-7362. Fernanda and Guillermo are truly an inspiration. Their grace, musicality, and technical capabilities are captured in every movement. The opportunity to view them on stage presents a wonderful experience. Kind Regards, Mia
