Attention gentlemen !
(From Spencer on behalf of Marcelo Varela and Analia)

Analia Vega & Marcelo Varela are going to conduct an "argentine social
Folk dances workshop" on Sunday April 8th. as many of you
already know.

Many young ladies have sent their emails committing to come to the
workshop, whereas not as many MEN have done so. Presently we have
more ladies than men written down.

We would like to have a rather equal number of males at the workshop.
We need to receive your email commitment to equalize the opportunities
for everyone to learn and dance. In other words support Marcelo and
Analia and support your fellow women dancers so you can learn with them.
(BTW:I have no personal financial interest on this whatsoever)

Do not send any payment. Just make your gentleman's commitment by email
that you will attend the workshop and we will honor it as
"pre-registered" price of $30 instead of the $35 price at the door. I
will reply by email reconfirming to you.

Being supportive of the ladies gives you a lot a "atta-boys". Support
your dance women partners by being present at
the workshop and enjoying the company and the sharing of a good
afternoon of dancing together
with young ladies committed to the enjoyment of dancing.

I will post an email to the effect when the number of participants is
equally weighed.

Marcelo Varela & Analia have scheduled an "Argentine Social FOLK dance
workshop" for April 8 from 2:30pm to 5:30pm in Campbell, CA.

Most of the Bay Area people already know Marcelo & Analia and you have
seen them at several milongas, Tango classes and Tango workshops.

THis "FOLK dances workshop is the only one they are giving in the BAY
Area
this time. In order for them/us to go on with this workshop, we need to
hear from those of you who are interested in taking this workshop from
them
on Sunday April 8th.

I will appreciate those interested to respond by email at this address
with
your name stating that you are in fact going to attend. If so, we will
honor
the lower (pre-registered) price of $30 for the workshop just by
receiving your
email lady's/gentleman's commitment. No need to send money in advance.

I have 7 persons pre-registered at this moment. We would like to have 15
to
20 people in the workshop for this to be worthwhile for Marcelo & Analia
to do this and perhaps for them to do more elsewhere. If you respond
quickly
I will email to you a confirmation. We need to keep it within reasonable
limits
so please do it quickly. I will respond to you one way or the other.
======

Those of you who attended the Campbell Milonga last Saturday, you
witnessed
their dancing of a folk dance number, a "Chacarera" and it was something
very
beautiful to watch and hopefully to learn.

For those of you who may not know;
In Argentina during the intermissions at the Milongas, it is customary
for
the milongueros to dance a few folk dances like "chacarera", gato,
chamame, etc.
These are traditional customs at the milongas and generally you see at a
milonga
during the intermission the public at large and several of the great
tango dancers
always coming out to dance folk dances, people like Marcelo and Analia,
Gavito &
Marcela Duran, Osvaldo Zotto, Daniel Lapadula, Pedro Benavente (el
indio)& Mariana, Hernan Obispo, etc. I have seen all these people at
milongas such as RE-FA-SI, Gricel, Nino Bien, etc, sharing the floor
with regular milongueros and dancing these intermission Folk dances.

Marcelo and Analia are interested in bringing this "frosting on the
cake" of
genuine argentine dancing to the SF Bay Area scene.

Support Marcelo & Analia on this effort and we will all enjoy this
passion of
dancing "argentine styles" of Tango milonga, walz and argentine folk
dances as well.
