Don't forget that this Thursday, April 19, Salon Recuerdo will have LIVE MUSIC for your dancing pleasure! That's right, we have a special appearance from the San Francisco-based "TANGO NO. 9" band, which has just released a new CD, "All Them Cats in Recoleta." Special admission price for April 19 only will be $15 per person.
The quartet features three Americans, Catharine Clune on violin, Greg Stephens on trombone and Joshua Raoul Brody on piano and a native Parisian, Odile Lavault, on bandoneon. Theirs is a timeless repertoire ranging from the dramatic tango nuevo of Astor Piazzolla to traditional Argentine classics like "El Choclo." Club style tango (milonguero style/close embrace/confiteria style) class from 8 to 9 p.m.; dancing from 9 to midnight or later. Salon Recuerdo is located at the Culver City Masonic Lodge, 9635 Venice Blvd., between Motor and Bagley/Main. Admission includes class, milonga and refreshments.
