"A Bridge to the Heart" Seminar
will focus on Tango Club Style, "Tango del Centro",
- the tango that's danced in the milongas of Buenos Aires -
with special attention to men's and woman's technique,
and to the dialogue between the partners.

Special focus for men:
 - navigating on a crowded floor,
 - inviting with contrabody movement as an alternative to "leading",
 - use your own space and do giros in a limited space,
 - interacting with sacadas, ganchos, and barridas,
 - changing direction with same speed without interrupting the movements,
 - syncopating and "crossing the beat" to the music,
 - generally improving advanced technique from basic patterns

Special focus for women:
lots of work on women's tecnique in all classes, including:
- the proper way to transfer weight
- the cadencia
- fluid giros
- how not to anticipate
- the natural way to do embellishments

Daniel teaches with an emphasis on the dialogue between the man and the
woman.
Both men and women will learn:
- to take your attention off of taking steps, and develop a fluid
communication with your partner.
- that being connected in the upper body allows the partners to be aligned
in the footwork.
- that with better upper body connection you can replace "lead and follow"
with a conversation in which both parties are active; you can create a true
dialogue in which questions are asked and responses are given, from both
sides, and both sides wait for a response. No more monologues by the
"leader".
- that with good contrabody motion, the invitation comes naturally.

And they will learn:
- to slow down and start to be conscious of the two movements of any step:
part one - transfering the weight and finding your balance,
and part two - "dragging an ancor", slowly uniting the second foot, always
in contact with the floor. This will help you to improve your balance and to
do embellishments
naturally, not artificially, in the slower time of the second part.
AND it eliminates the likelihood that the woman will anticipate.

Write me if you have questions about Daniel's May seminar.
Ciao,
Helaine
