There are hundreds of tango teachers in Buenos Aires, many of whom travel throughout the world to teach. However, this is not the case with the authentic milongueros. They don't teach, because they just want to dance. Times are changing, and people are asking (begging) the milongueros to teach what they know.
Daniel Garcia is a milonguero. He has joined forces with Muma Bossolino, a milonguera. They give private classes in milonga con traspie, vals and tango. Danny is one of the very best milonga dancers in Buenos Aires. I have had the opportunity to see Danny's dancing regularly in the milongas for the past eight months, and I've had the pleasure of dancing with him. When you see him, you will know he is a milonguero. He will celebrate his 60th birthday on May 8. I am in the process of making a video of Danny and Muma's teaching, their dancing, and personal interviews with each of them. I will produce an NTSC version. Let me know if you are interested in a copy. By the way, Danny told me he hopes to attend the tango festival in Cancun, September 18-23, 2001. Look for him at the milongas! Contact me if you are interested in arranging for a private with Danny & Muma. Pichi Congreso Milonguero - November 19-30, 2001, Buenos Aires
