For more information and to schedule Private Lessons call (786)367-1280 YVONNE MEISSNER has been dancing tango since 1987. The range of her tango is all-encompassing, having studied Tango de Salon with Pepito Avellaneda, Susanna Miller and Tete and Maria, Canyengue with Pocho Pizarro and Tango Fantasia with Vanina Billois and Gustavo Naveira. She has been teaching and performing in dance schools and festivals in Europe since 1994, and her teaching debut in the United States was at the 2000 Ithaca Festival, partnering with Eduardo Aguirre, next to Miguel Angel Zotto. Body technique for tango is Yvonnes specialty, since her background is on contact improvisation, Modern Dance and Alexander Technique. She teaches the use of the torso and torsion, synchronization of the movement of the couple and interaction between lead and follow. The goal: a dialogue of the bodies, one heart and four legs... EDUARDO AGUIRRE is one of the most interesting and authentic milongueros of the older generation of Buenos Aires, where he is honored in the most traditional milongas. >From 1991-1996 he taught in Salon Almagro. During 1998 and 1999 he taught at several milongas including Niño Bien. The TV Channel Solo Tango has featured Eduardo in a series of interviews as well as several didactic lessons on tango de salon. He has performed in different milongas and in the Teatro Alvear. His 1999-2000 tours with his partner Yvonne Meissner took him to Turkey, Austria, Germany, England, Holland, Switzerland, Italy and the United States His dance is extremely vivid and is characterized by staccato, unexpected changes of direction that in the next second turn into incredibly soft movements, always playing with quick and slow tempos.
