Yvonne and Eduardo are here in NYC and their workshops start tonight. I invited them based on their superb reputation. After seeing them perform at Spice Summer Festival and La Nacional, I am delighted to report that they are true milongueros who dance with precision, heart, musicality, creativity. They are here for one weekend only -- don't miss these lovely pair! Happy dancing, Reba

She studied Tango de Salon with Pepito Avellaneda, Susanna Miller and Tete and Maria, Canyengue with Pocho Pizarro and Tango Fantasia with Vanina Billois and Gustavo Naveira. From 1993 she brought the first milongueros like Cacho Dante to Holland and later Europe. She has been teaching Tango de Salon apilado since 1993 (milonguero style), performing in dance schools and festivals in Europe since 1994. She first taught in the U.S. at the 2000 Ithaca Festival, partnering Eduardo Aguirre, next to Miguel Angel Zotto and Angeles. Body technique for tango is her specialty, using her background in Contact Improv, Modern Dance and Alexander Technique. She teaches the use of the torso and torsion, synchronization of the movement of the couple and interaction between lead and follow. The goal: a dialogue of the bodies, one heart and four legs . . . EDUARDO AGUIRRE is one of the most interesting and authentic milongueros of the older generation of Buenos Aires, where he is honored in the most traditional milongas. From 1991-1996 he taught in Salon Almagro. During 1998 and 1999 he taught at several milongas including NiƱo Bien. Solo Tango TV has featured Eduardo in a series of interviews as well as lessons; he has performed in many milongas and in Teatro Alvear. His 1999-2001 tour with Yvonne took him to Turkey, Austria, Germany, England, Holland, Switzerland, Italy, France and the U.S. His dance is vivid and is characterized by staccato, unexpected changes of direction that in the next second turn into incredibly soft movements, always playing with quick and slow tempi. Musicality is a focus of their teaching, with a speciality of Canaro or D'Arienzo Tango Valses. www.xs4all.nl/~disegno/tango/yvonne/
