Hello All, I am pleased to announce that Omar Vega has extended his stay in Colorado until July 28th. This weekend, July 14th and 15th, Omar will teach a very special workshop designed for dancers of all levels. These clases will be an intensive study of fundamental and foundational skills to improve the quality of your dance. Omar will emphasize sound body mechanics and strong fundamentals. He will also encourage participates to explore ways to dance more naturally, musically and expressively.
Classes will be held at The Mercury Cafe in Denver at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Each class will have a different focus. For more information, please see the registration form available on the Tango Colorado website: www.tango.org/dance. We have also added two group classes in Colorado Springs on Saturday, July 21st from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. The first class will focus on milonga and the second on tango. Omar will also be available for private lessons and small group classes (less than six people) for the remainder of his stay. He is also available to choreograph stage performances for interested couples. This would be an intensive study including selecting appropriate music, developing a choreography to suit each couple's style and way of moving, and refining and purifying the choreography. Omar is one of the most creative and skillful dancers from the first generation of the tango revival of the mid 1980's. He is especially well known for his highly rhythmic and syncopated style of dancing and for his mastery of the Milonga. Omar moves with a natural movement which he uses to create his unique figures for the social dance floor. He then transforms these movements for performance. He is a master of improvisation and a careful and charismatic teacher. I hope you can join us. Good tangos to all, Lisa Battan
