The Latin & Argentine Tango Club of Detroit 8th Anniversary Celebration is scheduled for Saturday, October 13, 2001 at Lovett Hall in Greenfield Village, Dearborn, Michigan.
This event will be a formal gala dinner show featuring the directors and stars of TangoDanza"Quatro", Leandro Palou & Andrea Missé. The Latin & Argentine Tango Club Detroit's guest instructors from Argentina, Angel Gustavo and Mariana Gonzalo, will also be performing. Casenave Trio Tango will be playing all evening for your dancing pleasure. There will be a number of exciting performances by great local dancers, including Pamela Preczewski and Alex Young of DanceSport Academy of Michigan, our own Motor City Milongueros, and other special guests. It will be a spectacular evening in at the beautiful and historic Lovett Hall, lots of general dancing, a gourmet dinner, and a full three act show. Cocktails and general dancing will begin at 7:00pm, dinner will be at 9:00pm, and the show will begin at 10:00pm. The price is $70 for Latin & Argentine Tango Club members, $80 for non-members, $40 for show only. We will have a "Four Star Tango Workshop" the following day, Sunday, October 14. Leandro & Andrea and Gustavo & Mariana will teach a series of beginning through advanced classes at DanceSport Academy of Michigan in Dearborn. The workshop will begin at 4:00pm and consist of 4 classes of 1 1/2 hour duration . There will be a milonga immediately following the workshop until 11:00pm. Please plan to join Amy & Ray and all the Motor City Milongueros in Detroit for the weekend. Take the opportunity to tour the world renown Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. There have been recent exciting additions to this complex, including the Automotive Hall of Fame and Spirit of Ford.
