ABOUT COSTA AZUL ADVENTURE RESORT
This hidden paradise is 30 minutes from the Puerto Vallarta airport and
45 from downtown PV. It is in the tiny village of San Francisco, or "San
Pancho" as the locals call it. Until 1981, the village had no electricity,
and was a simple fishing village with the natural palapa huts that are seen
in many coastal areas of Mexico. The Costa Azul resort is completely
congruent with the rustic and wild beauty of Mexican jungle, with open
porches and a palapa (palm frond and rushes) roof on the large dining/dancing
area, You can have a margarita, watch the sunset, see the dolphins and whales
jumping, and feel sweet breezes while you wait for dinner! A varied menu is
provided, with some vegetarian dishes, lots of seafood, and specialties for
the American palate.
Suites and villas are all spacious, large enough to practice dance steps,
with two queen beds, and most have two sleeping couches as well. All
accommodations have lovely ocean views.
Costa Azul offers horseback riding, sailing, snorkeling, surfing, sea
kayaking, mountain biking, hikes to a waterfall, and seasonal events.
For example, in January during our last tango event there, Baby sea
turtles were hatching and being escorted back to the ocean by "the sea
turtle specialist" and several guests.
