Greetings Tango Dancers: We are excited to have Fernanda Ghi & Guillermo Merlo teaching in Philadelphia on the weekend of December 7, 8, 9, 2001. Here are some details:
Fernanda & Guillermo will join us at the Friday Night Milonga, University City Arts League, 4226 Spruce St, Philadelphia, where they will demonstrate. Dance 9pm - 1am. Price: $5, includes light refreshments. ALL WORKSHOPS WILL BE HELD AT: Pearson Hall #224 Temple University 1800 No. Broad St. Philadelphia, PA Saturday, Dec. 8: 11 am-12:30 pm. #1 Dancing with your torso. Technique for all levels. 1:30-3 pm. #2 Boleos Technique. Inter/Adv 3:30-4:45 pm. #3 Variations Using Boleos. Inter/Adv (#2 & #3 are consecutive classes; we encourage you to take them together) Sunday, Dec. 9: 11 am-12:30 pm. #4 Fundamental elements, balance & position for improvisation. All levels. 1:30-3 pm. #5 How To Do Sacadas? Technique. Inter/Adv 3:15-4:45 pm. #6 Variations Using Technique. Inter/Adv (#5 & #6 are consecutive classes; we encourage you to take them together) Prices: $25/workshop, $22 full-time students w/ID. $125/all six workshops Saturday night 9:30 pm to 1 am -- GALA TANGO PARTY: Location to be Announced. (Note: NOT at the CEC, as recently announced). Price: $15. Out-of-towners can frequently be accomodated overnight by members of the Philadelphia tango community. Let us know. Fernanda & Guillermo have performed and instructed worldwide, from Asia to Europe and the USA. They danced in the show "Forever Tango" and the PBS special Tango Magic , and co-produced "Tango Dreams". They've taught and performed at the yearly Tango Congress in Miami. Their warm, playful personalities as well as their wonderful example make their classes very productive and lots of fun. VIVIANA LEVINSON will be visiting from Washington DC to offer us her line of fashionable tango shoes for men and women. Viviana will set up her shoe display on Saturday during the workshops.
