San Miguel is a colonial jewel in the mountains of Central Mexico,
shining like treasure under turquoise skys. With some of the best shopping
in the country, colorful markets, four local hot springs, and extraordinary
architecture, it is easy to see why artists flock to this cultural Mexican
mecca. This summer Johnny Depp and Antonio Banderas were here with movie
crews to film Once Upon a Time in Mexico. We who live here know why they
chose the location, but our narrow cobble stoned streets were twisted up with
crews and traffic for weeks. Let's hope the film is good; I understand the
crew and actors were quite courteous.
Come tango with EDUARDO SAUCEDO, a great Argentine teacher coming just for
us from Buenos Aires. Shop, dine, and play. Eduardo is known for his
wonderful, generous heart, his great humor and creativity, and an excellent
teacher of club style (close embrace) tango. He spent the last six months
teaching in Canada, and at the Portland Tango Festival.
$175 is the cost for the week of tango and milongas. Your payment is due
immediately, and cut off date is Nov. 30th. Lodging in San Miguel is tight in
January, the most popular month, so please find lodging at:
