Wow! Since our Valentine's Tango Galas has been over, lot's of people have
been asking me when the TangoFest is gonna be. So here's the scoop:

PORTLAND'S 6TH ANNUAL OCTOBER TANGOFEST WILL BE THUR-SUN, OCT 17-20, 2002

ALSO, if you
(a) have taught here in the past for this event,
(b) would like to teach here in the future for this event, or
(c) would like to make a recommendation for an exceptional tango teacher,
please let me know.

HOWEVER, keep in mind that:
(a) Because I have more requests than teaching positions, I we will not be
able to accept everyone that wants to teach.
(b) If you or the person you're recommending has not taught here in the past
and is not reasonably well known, then I will need an email address, bio, a
video, and references.
(c) We specifically strive to get teachers from many different geographical
areas who teach and dance Argentine tango in many different styles.
(c) Because of the large number of teachers (28 last year and probably 30 this
time), each instructor will be assigned only a few classes (this leaves lots of
time for privates, schmoozing, relaxing, site seeing, dancing, or whatever).

In case you're wondering, the teachers last year were Florencia (B.A.), El
Pulpo (B.A.) & Luisa (Brazil), Eduardo (B.A.) & kikki (Canada), Hugo & Miriam
(B.A.), Jorge Nel (Miami/Columbia), Daniel Lapadula (B.A.) & Lisa (Dallas),
Leroy & Pheobe (Chicago), Gary & Chelsea (San Fran), Christy Cote (San Fran),
Evan & Michelle (Seattle), Tony & Ilana (Seattle), Steve & Deena (Steve &
Deena), Ramiro Gigliotti (B.A.), Christopher & Caroline (San Fran), Yvonne
Meisner (Amsterdam), Cacho Dante(B.A.) & Barbara Durr (Atlanta), and Brigitta
Winkler (Germany).

Thanks...hope we see you next Oct if not sooner..clay
