Hi folks,
Carlos Rivarola is one of those exceptional talents that shouldn't be
missed by aficionados when he is available. The workshops presented by
"Tango A Media Luz" below should interest anyone within driving distance of
the San Francisco Bay Area. Then, if you just couldn't get enough while he
was here, be patient because Maria & Carlos Rivarola will be teaching
together at Nora's Tango Week. See http://www.tangoweek.com/ for details.

I have received several calls asking about the Carlos Rivarola workshops
March 16-18th. While he is very well known in the world of tango, he
isn' so well-known here in San Francisco. The best way of letting you
know what it is like to study with Maestro Rivarola is to share comments
from some of last year's students.

"David and I are thrilled at the opportunity to work with Rivarola
again. Carlos Rivarola has coached and choreographed the best, and is
willing to lend his unfailing eye to those of us who just want to look
better and move better on the dance floor. During Rivarola's last visit
to the SF Bay Area, David and I took one of his workshops. He spotted
us across the room, walked over, gave us some encouraging words, and
made a small, but important correction. It changed both our posture and
our lines. We have improved a lot since then, and I can't wait to work
with him again."
- Nancy & David Mendoza, tango teachers & performers

"I really enjoyed Carlos Rivarola's classes I took. His style of
teaching was serious and the pace was great. He took time with each
student to point out areas of need. Very patient, excellent style and
focus on each move."
- Celina Rose, student

"I was immediately struck by CR's stage presence, quiet and understated
ease and elegance of his tango moves. What I was pleasantly surprised by
was CR's teaching ability. CR's teaching style mirrors his tango
style. He speaks quietly, communicates effectively, and efficiently
elicits desired changes in the student's execution of tango figures. He
is responsible for the quantum leap in tango that the entire workshop
group experienced. Students on every level benefited from his personal
attention."
- Alex Sinkovitch, student

"I particularly liked the workshop because it concentrated on one
pattern - with a lapiz and an enrosque for the leader. I still execute
this pattern... The teaching was clear, and material incremental."
- Arthur Fraser, student

"I think it nothing short of a miracle that dancers like Mr. Rivarola
come to the Bay Area to share their knowledge and experience, sparing me
the expense of a round-trip ticket to Buenos Aires. If you have any
doubts, head for your local video store and check out a copy of "Tango"
(by Saura). He is the principal dancer."
Joanna Bujes, student
