This is an early warning for the Milonguero weekends in Denver on
Memorial & Labor Day weekends. Start watching for good airfares, and
make your hotel reservations soon.

Workshop details will soon be available.

BOTH weekends feature lots of dancing at a reasonable cost.

Full festival passes for each event are only $129 (pre-purchased).

Lodging in Denver is cheap ($69-$79/night in a nice hotel), and we
will have a limited number of rooms with local members of Tango
Colorado.

BOTH weekends feature over TWENTY hours of dancing in FOUR Milongas,
each with its own special flavor:
 - Fri: Live Tango Orchestra Music in the Alternative/night-club
         atmosphere of the Mercury Cafe,
 - Sat: Elegant Evening Milonga with DJ music
 - Sun: Outdoor BBQ & milonga by Tango Colrodo in a wonderful,
         Greek-style pavilion.
 - Sun: All-night milonga

BOTH weekends emphasize SOCIAL TANGO DANCING. The term "Milonguero"
honors the rhythmic, close-embrace, style of tango typical of the
dance clubs of central Buenos Aires.

BOTH weekends invite you to come dance with the Denver tango
community, as well as with visiting fanatics of close embrace tango
from around the US and beyond.

BOTH weekends emphasize DANCING, but also have workshops designed for
mixing with local and visiting tango dancers.
 - Memorial Day: Master Workshops with Susana Miller
 - Labor Day: Master workshops with US teachers who specialize in
the close-embrace, social style of tango.

Which weekend is best for you?

MEMORIAL DAY weekend will be more forgiving to the Intermediate
dancer. Classes will focus on skill building and vocabulary for
crowded dance floors. Dance events will be crowded, but not crazy.

LABOR DAY weekend will have larger attendance. Navigation skills in
the milongas will be paramount as the Dance floors will be crowded.
It will be assumed that you already are familiar with close-embrace
tango, or else have good navigation skills.

Special Details:

Memorial Day will be in the Central part of Denver. You may find a
car helpful. Downtown Denver is a great, walkable, area with many
cafes, restaurants and a casual Urban atmosphere. We recommend the
Hyatt Regency downtown for its reasonable price and convenient
location. If you have a car, try the La Quinta Inn at I-25 & 38th
avenue.

Labor Day will mostly take place under the roof of the Denver
Doubletree Hotel, 303-321-3333, 10 minutes East of Downtown. Early
reservations with the code word of "Tango Fest" are essential as
there will be a large grand-prix race event taking place just South
of Downtown Denver.
