"Many Milongueros; Many Tango Languages"
The term "Milonguero" honors the style and dancing of the older
gentlemen of the dance floors of Buenos Aires. Dance in Denver;
recall the Buenos Aires experience.

* About the Memorial Day Milonguero Weekend.
This weekend is designed as a Tango weekend by dancers for dancers.
Workshops with Susana Miller are available at the Intermediate /
Adv-Intermediate level, but the focus remains on the DANCING.
Denver is a great tango city, with an enthusiastic and dedicated
batch of dancers. We'll get 70 - 90 locals out to each dance, and
we'll have 40 - 60 visitors. The dance floors will be a little
crowded, but not insane.
All events are in or near Downtown Denver. You probably won't need a
car, but might need one or two taxi rides. Downtown is a great,
walkable, area with many cafes, restaurants and a casual urban
atmosphere.
We recommend the Hyatt Regency downtown for its reasonable price and
convenient location, 303-293-1234. If you have a car, try the La
Quinta Inn at I-25 & 38th Ave, 303-458-1222. Either hotel should be
$69-$79 weekend rates.
Email for possible lodging with local tango dancers.
Early Arrivals: Come as early as you wish. First Weekend event starts
about 10:00 on Friday. The airport is about 30 minutes from downtown.
* About the Milongas:
Friday: 10:00 - 2:00: Mercury Cafe: Extasis, Live music for dancing
Saturday: 9:00 - 1:30: Elegant DJ Milonga
Sunday: 5:00 - 10:00: Outdoor Milonga & BBQ with Tango Colorado
Sunday: 11:00 - 4:00: Late-night milonga at the Mercury Cafe.
* About the Workshops:
5 Classes, Saturday and Sunday.
Susana Miller has probably put more people on the dance floor in
Buenos Aires than any other single teacher. She is certainly the most
influential teacher advocating the "milonguero-style" of tango.
"This is the tango as it is danced in the milongas in Buenos Aires.
This tango has a flavor, aesthetic and body dynamics completely
different from that of the tango shows."
Susana has a teaching methodology that progresses from fundamentals
all the way up to advanced material. Deceptively simple, the
milonguero style is rich in subtlety, internal communication and
passion.
Many Milongueros; Many Tango Languages
Susana is an anthropologist of the milongas of Buenos Aires. She
watches the older dancers. Each one has his own special tango
vocabulary, grammar & language. Susana's teaching is a translation of
the tango languages of the Milongueros.
What is special about Susana Miller
Susana is a special instructor because of her internal, grounded &
rhythmic sensibility. When you watch her teach you are immediately
reminded of the old guys on the dance floor in Buenos Aires, the ones
with 40 or 50 years of tango.
