ABOUT FABIAN & CAROLINA

Fabian Salas is a multitalented tango teacher, dancer, and
choreographer, and is widely regarded as one of the most influencial
Tango teachers in his generation. He was a member of the original cast
(1994-1995) of the award-winning (Best Musical) Argentine Tango show
"Gotan," and also performed in the stage show "El Patio de la Morocha"
(1993-1994) at the "Teatro Municipal General San Martin" in Buenos
Aires. He was one of the dancers in the movie "Evita" and one of the
three principal dancers in the award-winning movie "The Tango Lesson."
Tireless researcher and maestro, Fabian Salas has opened new ways in the
conception of the dance, creating an unmistakable style of Tango. He is
cofounder (w/ Gustavo Naveira) of the premier CITA Tango Congresses in
Buenos Aires, and is much sought after as a teacher & performer by tango
lovers around the world.

Carolina del Rivero has been dancing ballet and modern for most of her
life, including studying at the prestigious Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires
and then at the Teatro San Martin. She has studied and danced Tango with
several renowned Tango maestros in Buenos Aires, including Gustavo
Naveira and Fabian Salas, and has performed in numerous Tango Shows in
Buenos Aires and around the world.

Saturday, 20 April 2002 (Beginners through Advanced)

* 11:45 am - Noon: Registration & warm-up
* Noon - 1:30 pm: T1: Tango Fundamentals for all (essentials of Fabian's
technique, open to all)
* 2:00 - 3:30 pm: T2: Structure and Turns (Giros). Possibly the most
important class of the weekend! Fabian's technique for teaching the
"giros" is one of the most effective. Take this regardless of level.
Open to all including beginners with T1)
* 3:45 - 5:15 pm: T3: Variations with Turns (development of above, open
to advanced beginners with T1-T2)
* 5:30-7:00 pm: V1: Introduction to Tango Vals (open to advanced
beginners).

* 9:30 pm - 1:15 am: LA MILONGA featuring SHOWCASE by FABIAN & CAROLINA!
Hors d'oeuvres and refreshments served.

Sunday, 21 April 2002 (Intermediate through Advanced)

PRICES

Workshops are 1-1.5 hours each, and cost less than $10/hour of
instruction (members in advance). Students get a 30% additional discount
on all prices below (except membership). Detailed pricing information
below. The best deal for intermediate and advanced dancers is the
Superpass. See the registration form or the info below for full details
and a la carte rates. To get the advance rate, please mail your payment,

VFW Mt. Auburn Post, 688 Huron Avenue, Cambridge (off Fresh Pond
Parkway, at corner of Cushing St, near Belmont line-look for the rocket
outside the building). Limited parking in lot behind building-street

OTHER INFORMATION

Confirmations are not sent out for preregistrations, but your name will
be listed at the door. No partner is necessary--there will be frequent
partner changes. Wear leather-soled shoes comfortable for dancing. Dress
is casual for the workshops. However, "La Milonga" is a formal dance and
elegant attire is requested. The VFW Mt. Auburn Post is air-conditioned
and spacious. You are encouraged to take workshops progressively to get
the most out of the weekend.
