July-August 2002:
Eduardo & Gloria Arquimbau
Available for workshops

This is a notice regarding the availability of Eduardo & Gloria for
US & Canada workshops in the late Summer and possibly into the Fall.

A master teaching couple that needs no introduction, Eduardo & Gloria
learned Tango in the 1950s, performed extensively on Television and
in tours with all the major orchestras of the 50s & 60s (except Di
Sarli who died before the tour could begin). They took part in the
original Tango Argentino and Forver Tango shows as well.

Eduardo & Gloria also teach historical and social styles of tango,
including the rhythmic "Club-Style" (aka "milonguero"), Canyengue,
Tango-Milonga, etc. They can show a mean street version of tango that
used to get the kids kicked out of the nicer clubs.

Charming and gregarious, Eduardo & Gloria are masters of the BBQ
grill and are full of stories about tango personalities and history.
Their "Charlas" (Chats) are an ever-popular feature of their visits.

There is also the possibility of hosting them together with a tango
orchestra from Argentina. I would suggest seeking arts funding or
cultural grants if you are interested in this.

There have been a couple of requests for 2-4 week workshops, thus it
is important to get your request in soon for everything to work out.

Please contact me if you have any interest in hosting Eduardo & Gloria.
