EMBRACING ARGENTINA - A BENEFIT FOR THE CHILDREN OF ARGENTINA
Due to Argentina's current economic crisis, more than 50% of Argentina's 36
million people live below the poverty line. Because of currency devaluation,
it now takes 3.5+ pesos to buy one US dollar and unemployment is currently
running at 25%. Many children and families go hungry. In order to help the
people of Argentina, Portland's Tango Community is proud to sponsor a
Dance-A-Thon and silent auction.
DATE: Sunday, August 18, 2002, 7PM to Midnight
LOCATION: The Viscount Ballroom - 722 E. Burnside, Portland, Oregon
(Use of Ballroom generously donated by Founder, Eric Cila)
ADMISSION: $10
There will be lots of dancing, performances, a silent auction, door prizes
and special guest, Florencia Taccetti from Buenos Aires.
WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP:
1. Come and Participate in the Dance-A-Thon. Ask friends and family to
