Dear Ladies and Gentlemen of the Tango,

Master teachers Julio Balmaceda and Corina de la Rosa will be returning to Denver, October 8-24, 2002, to continue their work with Intermediate, Advanced and Professional dancers. We will have two great weekends of master classes, two very special milongas with Julio and Corina and over a week of private lessons! In addition to that, it will be Julio and Corina's first visit to Denver since the release of their new performance video "Recuerdos de Tango" that illustrates with great precision the technical and artistic work they have been dancing all over the world and teaching in their master classes. As always, with your great help, we will have a wonderful and festive event full of energy, lots of dancing and great tango learning.

Please read the following information carefully as it contains all the details regarding this event.

As always, the classes will be completely gender balanced. The classes that will be held at the Arts Project Studio will be open only to 40 dancers, so please register early.

These master classes are not open to beginner dancers. Even though I encourage dancers to take classes that are more difficult than their current level, I leave this judgement to you to decide for yourself. I recommend that if you decide to take a class that you know is of a much higher level than you are dancing currently, please see if someone that normally dances with you will partner up with you for that class. This allows dancers to grow by taking higher level classes without frustrating other dancers in the class.

The intermediate, advanced and professional dancers are not required to arrive with a partner. It is our responsibility to make sure that everyone has a partner when the classes begin. That is why we require advance registration. Those dancers that do arrive with a partner, such as tango teachers and performers, are not required to rotate partners, but may do so whenever they wish.

Cost & Registration Requirements:

The registration deadline is September 17, 2002. To ensure proper gender balance for the classes, they are open on drop-in basis only to persons who either arrive with a partner or are able and willing to dance both the lead and the follow parts . The classes are $25 per person for Int/Advanced level, $30 for Adv/Prof level, and $225 for the entire two-weekend series, if pre-registered before September 17, 2002, $30 drop in for Int/Adv, $35 drop in for Adv/Prof. There is a 15% discount offered to students, professional dancers, dance teachers (including AT) and dancers with more than 65 years of experience at life and the discount may be applied to the cost of the entire series as well as to the individual classes.

Please do not wait to register until the last minute. Most of the classes get full very quickly.

October 11, 12 & 18, 2002 - The Arts Project Studio, 1411 Ogden Street, Denver
