Hi Tango Friends,

My name is Karen from Portland, Oregon. At this time and for the past year I
have been living and enjoying myself in Buenos Aires (The Tango Capital). It
has been a great year with many fulfilling experiences.

Many people come here to get new experiences and to make their fantasies come
true. I did it just to improve my Spanish, my tango-dance, and most of all to
learn about this culture. I've fulfilled all of these dreams and have
discovered a whole new world in the process.

Before I came here somebody told me about their frustrations because they
wasted a lot of time and money trying to accomplish their goals before leaving.
Where to go to take lessons and from whom, what milongas to go to and how to
get dances, who makes the best shoes. I knew I needed some help.

At first it was difficult to find the help I needed. I was a little frustrated
but I didn't let it stop me.

These days I know all the best places for tango, dance classes, theatre, and
shopping. Not only places just for tourists but places where the men and women
of tango (tangueros, tango-teachers, good dancers, orchestras, singers, etc.)
live the tango every day, and with whom I have shared many unforgettable
moments. Among them I met Julio Corazza, a man who showed me the lovely city of
Buenos Aires, its history, sights and secrets. He often helps visitors because
he loves his country, he really knows Argentina and the tango scene, and he
likes to improve his English.

I have grown to love this country and now I am a part of this community, not
only the tango community, but the entire cultural community.

Because the Argentine tango community is very different from our tango
communities it is worthwhile to have the knowledge and experience of those who
know everything there is to know about tango in Buenos Aires. To make the most
of a short trip it is essential! For this reason I decided to create an
assistance service to our Tango-Friends in association with Julio to be your
Tango Partners in Buenos Aires. ([email protected])

When you come you will want to make the most of your time, perhaps only one or
two weeks. Whether you need help finding accommodations, exchanging money, or
locating the tango teachers right for you. Julio and I can help you with every
aspect of organizing your trip so that you have a truly memorable tango
experience.

As I say in the Portland tango community web page www.europa.com/~walsup/tango,
"Portland, where they take their tango seriously but not themselves." I take
very seriously the matter of helping you to make your tango dreams come true
and to show you how life is in Buenos Aires.

In order to learn the philosophy of tango, what it really means in context with
the culture from which it was created, it is necessary to visit Buenos Aires,
the city where tango was born.

Today is the cheapest moment to visit Argentina because of the exchange.

Springtime is coming and the Buenos Aires Tango Festival will begin in a few
months, so I recommend you make the journey JUST TO LIVE TANGO!!!
