Dance of the Heart (Boulder, Colorado) is pleased to announce a very special week of tango events this March!
LUCIANA VALLE returns to Colorado to offer five days of workshops and private lessons. "Hurricane Lucy" (as she is affectionately known here) will blow into town on Thursday March 6 for five days of workshops and private lesson opportunities. Most Tango-L readers need no introduction to Luciana Valle, whose fresh, energetic, fun, intelligent teaching style has endeared her to tango lovers around the world. A protege of the Tango Investigation Group pioneered by Gustavo Naveira and Fabian Salas, she has taught and performed around the world, partnering at times with Fabian Salas, Omar Vega, Gabriel Guerberoff, Damian Essell, and Alex Krebs. Luciana visited Colorado twice last year, and has many happy local fans awaiting her return! Out-of-town visitors can also benefit from two regularly-scheduled Colorado milongas, Friday's Mercury Milonga in Denver and Dance of the Heart's own milonga in Boulder on Saturday night. === AND!!! === (For visitors able to stay through Tuesday night): TANGOKINESIS! Ana Maria Stekelman's legendary tango performance troupe will perform in Denver as part of their current tour on Tuesday night, March 11th, in their only USA performance west of Austin, TX. Ana Maria Stekelman's acclaimed choreography blends the worlds of tango and modern dance. An early partner of Miguel Angel Zotto, she was a featured choreographer for Carlos Saura's feature film "Tango", and has taken Tangokinesis on several world tours in the last 10 years to stunning reviews. Her women are drawn from classical backgrounds, while her men are drawn from tango. The performances they put on are "the tango I dance in my dreams." You risk being brought to tears, as I have been, during their heart-stopping explorations of the tango esthetic.
