ABOUT YVONNE MEISSNER
YVONNE Began studying Argentine Tango with the Tango Fantasia,
the style used in many choreographic stage shows. Gustavo
Naveira influenced her style in Tango Fantasia, amongst others.
After a few years she began to turn her attention to Salon or
club style tango. She was trained by Pibe Avellaneda, Susanna
Miller, and Tete and Maria. She later extended her Tango
repertoire to include Canyengue. The style of Argentine Tango
Yvonne teaches is a blend of the purest forms of traditional
salon and fantasia tango with modern dance and a form known as
the "Alexander Technique." Through her refined techniques of
the use of the torso, the synchronization of movements in the
interaction of lead and follow, and the silent conversation of
the bodies she trains dancers to communicate non -verbally
through the principle of One Heart pulsating through 4 legs. She
is well-known not only in her native Netherlands but throughout
Europe, Turkey, North America and South America. She has taught
at numerous festivals and performed in many salons in Buenos
Aires.
