Dear Tango fellows: It is already 5 years and nine month that I came here to the Bay Area for the first time. I think it was a very positive step in my life. Little by little I got into this North Californian way of life and now I think it is just my way. So many changes in my life since I m here! Well, I got something new for you. More than one to be precise: Firstly, I ve got a new partner. I wasn t really looking for one in the last time. Yes, I knew I wasn t going to dance with the mops the rest of my life, but I wasn t in a hurry. But she came anyway. I met her a month ago in Jeanne s milonga and I ask her to dance and I knew right away she could be my partner. I didn t delay it. Ending our dance I ask her if she thought anytime to become a professional dancer and she said yes. Then, I told her my thoughts, my feelings, and I invite her to my classes. After a month I m sure. This Saturday coming, September 13th, Jeanne s milonga will be the place to celebrate our first meeting and to introduce to all of you this very pretty woman, this beautiful person, this gorgeous dancer, this partner that makes to dance so fun, my partner: Romina. On the other hand I have to tell you my project for the coming future. My plan is to develop a show where we can share with more people this, our passion for tango, even if they don t dance, even if they want to come and just enjoy watching us. I ll like to show a tango that is a social dance but also so beautiful (yes, like my partner) that it deserves the attention of and audience. Then, it s in order to do it that this Sunday coming, September 14th, I m starting a new kind of class: A CHOREOGRAPHY CLASS. This class pretends to be even fun, creative, a personalized class where I can see all of you one by one, a way you can get elements and tips for your own performances, choreographic ideas and also to be the seed for this show I m planning. And more, my next two Monday advanced classes will be honored to receive two wonderful guest teachers. Monday Sept. 15th will be the night of Paulo Araujo, a fun, creative and very smart dancer that will challenge you with all his innovative ideas. And then, on Monday Sept. 22nd, Susana Miller, a real tango Master with a trajectory of many years of teaching and dancing with the most famous dancers that will tell us everything a follower never told you. And if all this is to little, I ve got more for you. I ve got my fourth Saturday of the month SPECIAL WORKSHOP that this month will be about leader s and follower s technique and also the last Sunday of the month VIDEO FESTIVAL AND MILONGA with more wonderful performances. Remember please you ll be missing me for 10 days when I go to Buenos Aires with some of my students. On these days Orlando Paiva Jr. and Mariana will teach on the Monday advanced class (October 6th) and the Wednesday beginner/intermediate class (Oct. 8th) while Robert will be teaching at my Friday class.
