This Festival is certainly taking on a life of it's own!
Musicians from the USA are coming in just for the fun of being here for this
first International Fiesta! We'll have some super tango musicians, and more
wonderful activities than you can imagine.
I hope you join us. You still have a little time to get your plane and hotel
reservations, but not much!
After you register, we will send you a list of participating hotels and
pensions here.
VIVA LA FIESTA!
Contact: [email protected] to register until Sept. 27th.
Christina is on tour with tango in France at the moment.

TANGO     FIESTA
FIRST INTERNATIONAL TANGO FESTIVAL IN SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE, MEXICO!

OCTOBER    1   THRU   5   2003

EL INDIO and MARIANA, and FABIAN SALAS   and CAROLINA DEL RIVERO will be four
of our
EXTRAORDINARY teachers. We also welcome ORLANDO BUDINI, as a special guest
teacher from Houston.
There will be partying with the following fiestas: the alborada fiesta on
Sept. 28, beginning at 4:00AM with skyfulls of blazing fireworks, and
castillos, (towers of fireworks) Very noisy and happy!   Then the parade
celebrating Saints: Michael, and Rafael is ongoing   Sept. 29. All these
fiestas commence Sept. 15th, with the celebration of Mexican Independence
Day. Too many fiestas, too little time...
San Miguel de Allende is in central Mexico, nearest to Leon, but you
may also fly into Mexico City. There is very comfortable first class bus
transportation from each of these cities to San Miguel. In both cities we
will arrange for you to be met with an agency to get you where you need to
go.

San Miguel is a mountain artist’s colony, at   5,500+ feet,   with turquoise
skies, and in October, fields of wildflowers and excellent weather. There is
lots to see and do: several hot springs , horseback riding, hiking, and
gorgeous restaurants. The shopping opportunities abound, and there are many
art galleries and night spots with great music.
The town itself is a protected national monument, with narrow cobblestone
streets, buildings painted with siena, scarlet, purple, and tropical flowers
cascading over the high walls. The beautiful architecture includes churches,
homes, and municipal buildings. We are planning one of the milongas in the
nearby ghost town of Pozos at a lovely hotel/restaurant. This spot is
extraordinary for photos. The ruins in and outside of town are graceful
remains of   the   haciendas of wealthy mining families who once lived there.

REGISTRATION:   $100 per person deposit, due IMMEDIATELY. The rate of $270
for the entire week of classes and three milongas is good until August 20th.
Included is a welcome cocktail party, a “callejonada”
where we will
dance the streets downtown following troubadors in medieval costume, singing
Mexican ballads and folksongs, drinking tequila.   This package will get you
into the Orchestra/show for a discounted price of about $12 USD.
Discounts are also available for a group of five that includes at least two
men. Your lodging needs to be paid SEPARATELY, and ETV can book it for you
for
$25 US.
NOT INCLUDED in the price are special workshops, trips, hot springs, group
dinners, ranch parties, orchestra/show and other activities to choose that
will each have their separate prices beginning at about $10.
