The tango community is large and fast, fast growing, the milongas are among the slickest ones in Europe! For about the price of a regular milonga in America or Europe, you get to have full meals and or drinks... in such magnifiscent frames that we could not even dream of here in the western Europe. The millenary city, located on both sides of the Bosphorus, between Europe and Asia has also a lot to offer in terms of history, culture, sightseeing, fun etc... it is young and vibrating. 2 years ago, I bought and compelety restorated an old leventine flat in the heart of the old town in Beyoglu, seconds away from the Galata tower built by the Genoese in 1348. I bought it because it was very central and could walk to most of the milongas on the European side and it was easiy to access the Asian coast. I re-did the interior in such a way that it could host up to 6 people with a large empty space with a wooden floor so that it would be possible to organise workshops, practicas or semi-private milongas during the day. Istanbul also has one of the rare tanguero guest houses in Europe!
