Laurie Vega is hosting a workshop with Orlando Paiva, Jr. and Mariana
Melling of Rosario, Argentina in Dallas, Texas. The workshop dates have
expanded to October 16-21, 2003
Orlando Paiva, Jr. and Mariana Melling continue the beautiful style for
which Orlando Paiva, Sr. is well known. Orlando Paiva, Jr. and Mariana
Melling are pure Argentine Tango dancers and teachers. They were born and
grew up in an atmosphere of tango, respecting and loving the dance.
Following the basis of a special style, they dance feeling the floor.
Their dancing is distinctive in fluidity, foot position and precision,
giving a masterful image of Argentine tango. They make Argentine tango a
three-minute romance.
According to Orlando Paiva, Sr., "Not only have they maintained the basis
of my style; they have perfected it. They have such elegance and
romanticism, you must see them." In addition to Rosario, they have
taught and performed in Buenos Aires and cities throughout Europe and
North America, where people fell in love with their romantic and elegant
style that is the hallmark of the Paiva legacy.
