We have Paulo Araujo back in Chicago for 10 days (Oct. 21-31, 2003) teaching
workshops and available for private lessons

Don t miss this opportunity to begin or continue studying with Chicago s
favorite visiting instructor of Argentine tango, direct from the World Tango
Festival in Buenos Aires (with Graciela Gonzalez) and the Portland TangoFest,
enroute to Italy.

Paulo Araujo, a native of Rio de Janeiro, began his formal study of tango in
1989 in Buenos Aires with Gustavo Naveira, Graciela Gonzalez (one of his
favorite partners - pictured here with whom he teaches in B.A. & Europe),
Pepito Avellaneda, Lampazo, Rodolfo and Maria Ciere. Paulo is the founder of
the Instituto Brasileiro do Tango in Rio de Janeiro, where he holds a weekly
milonga in his studio and has a dance troup. In the book Tango, Uma Paixco
Porteqa no Brasil by Ney Homero da Silva Rocha, it is noted: Paulo and Bngela
(his partner) have been the most important colaboradors in the growth and
development of tango in Rio de Janeiro. Rocha also writes: Paulo associates
tango with his own essence of life. The winner of numerous national awards,
including Best Tango Teacher in Brazil, Paulo s students call him a brujo
because of his wizardry in finding and correcting their individual weaknesses.
He concentrates on technique rather than steps and gives ingenious
exercises to address problem areas. Energy connection, embrace as a sacred
act, and dynamic musicality and creativity within the couple are his
hallmarks.

See the March 2002 issue of Tango Noticias (www.tangonoticias.com) for an
interview with Paulo Araujo.
