starting Thursday, Oct 16

(If you would like to check out my teaching style, or if you have
already enrolled and would like to get a little head start on the
material, I will be teaching an introductory Tango class at the Tango
Society of Boston's Wednesday Tango Dance Break from 7:30-8:30 pm
tomorrow, Wed, Oct 15, at 688 Huron Av, Cambridge.)

Three 4-week sessions on THURSDAY evenings starting Oct 16, 2003
(through Nov 6). Classes are limited to 8-12 people.

7:00-8:00 pm: Fundamentals of Argentine Tango (All levels)
8:15-9:15 pm: Accelerated Fundamentals of Arg. Tango Plus! (Experienced)
9:30-10:30 pm: Milonga with Traspie (Experienced)

1. FUNDAMENTALS OF ARGENTINE TANGO. 7-8 pm. Basic elements of the dance,
salida, caminar, ochos, roles of men and women, strong emphasis on
lead/follow and connection with partner. For newcomers to Tango or those
with just a few classes, or less than 6 months of experience, or more
advanced dancers who would like to refine their fundamentals.

2. ACCELERATED FUNDAMENTALS OF ARGENTINE TANGO PLUS! 8:15-9:15 pm.
Covers all of Session 1 plus additional intermediate elements (e.g.,
barridas, giro & ocho variations). For motivated students--practice
outside class is expected. Open to those with 6+ months prior Tango
experience, or 2 years prior experience in other dance forms, or
concurrently with "Fundamentals of Argentine Tango."

3. MILONGA WITH TRASPIE. 9:30-10:30 pm. The dance of Milonga is
infrequently taught in the Boston area; yet 25% of songs played at Tango
dances are Milongas! This class introduces Milonga & elements of the
traspie (syncopations), essential to the "feel" of the dance but rarely
learned by most dancers. For intermediate level dancers or above
(previous Milonga experience not required) or advanced beginners with a
little previous Milonga experience.

Classes are located near Harvard Square, Cambridge, 5 minutes or less
from subway and numerous bus lines. Good evening parking availability.
Please see the web site for address/directions.

Each four week session costs $60 for members of the Tango Society of
Boston ($80 otherwise; membership to the Tango Society of Boston costs
$12 for 1 year--see www.bostontango.org). Payment may be made by PayPal
(see www.paypal.com) using Visa/Mastercard/Amex -- please use the
payment address [email protected].

Classes are limited to 8-12 students each to ensure individual
attention, and will be gender balanced. Please see contact information
below to register.

About the instructor: Shahrukh is trained exclusively by top Tango
